A member of Christian Peacemaker Teams, who spent three weeks observing tensions between Palestinian and Israeli citizens, will speak Sunday (March 9) at 11:30 a.m. at the First Congregational Church, Corner of Palouse and Alder, Walla Walla.
Treye McKinney participated as a member of the Palestine Peace Delegation in October 2007, accompanying children to schools and observing firsthand the struggles for land, water, living space and human dignity in various regions of Israel and Palestine.
His visit included travel to East Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Hebron, Ramallah, Jenin, and Nablus. His presentation includes photographs documenting his travels and the struggles of the people of the region. His lecture is free and open to the public. His visit is part of the “March of Peace,” a series of peace-related activities planned during the month.
