| ICICLE CREEK: CASCADES OF PEACE, A Piano and Violin Concert Performed by Oksana Ezhokina and Jennifer Caine of the Icicle Creek Music Center Walla Walla, WA March 27, 7:30 p.m. Oksana Ezhokina, pianist, and Jennifer Caine, violinist, will perform in concert, “Icicle Creek: Cascades of Peace,” at St. Paul’s Episcopal, 323 Catherine. Ezhokina is Co-Artistic Director and teaches a full piano studio at the Icicle Creek Music Center (ICMC), a non-profit organization in Leavenworth, Washington. Caine serves as Resident Violinist at ICMC. Ezhokina, a native of Russia, was awarded her doctorate in piano performance from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, 2004. She also holds a degree from the Ryazan School of Music in Russia and a Masters of Music degree in piano from Northern Illinois University. She earned a BA in music from Walla Walla University. The winner of piano competitions in Russia and the US, Ezhokina has given numerous solo and chamber performances in both countries. Caine is a graduate of Harvard University with a BA in Music and Slavic Languages and Literatures, and holds Master of Music Degrees from the Royal College of Music and Oxford University. Caine won first prize of the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe Competition in 2004, and is the recipient of several awards including the Isolde Menges Prize, Polonsky Foundation Grant and Frank Huntington Beebe Grant for Musicians. She has performed in concerts through the US and Europe. In addition to works by Beethoven, Franck and Ravel, the March 27 program at St. Paul’s Episcopal includes Glenn Spring’s composition, “Contemplation,” played in duet. Spring, a musician, worked as a composer and professor in the Walla Walla Valley until he moved to Denver in 2001; he continues to teach, write and give workshops with his wife, Kathleen Spring. This event is part of the “March of Peace,” a series of community oriented arts related activities planned during the month.
